Coos Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) is a nonprofit economic development organization serving small business owners and entrepreneurs in Coos County, NH. CEDC provides lending, educational programs, access to grants, and business coaching to the business owners of Coos County. We are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper who wants to help grow and support the small businesses of Coos County in order to sustain vibrant communities across our region.

Timing: We are looking to hire no later than April 1.

Location: Based in Lancaster, NH, this position will require in-office work with the ability to also work remotely.

Schedule: Flexible Hours Monday- Friday;

Part-time position with average of 5-8 hours weekly.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Process and pay all invoices using QuickBooks.

  • Write/Deposit checks and reconcile all bank and credit card accounts

·        Maintain vendor information files and W9 forms.

  • Process employee payroll (bi-monthly) using QuickBooks

  • Process payroll taxes monthly and complete Quarterly Payroll Taxes

  • Process Annual W-2s and 1099’s

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board review.

  • Attend monthly Finance Committee meetings

  • Attend monthly Board meeting and record minutes

  • Assist the Executive Director with annual budget preparation.

  • Assist the Executive Director with annual and quarterly grant applications and reporting.

  • Assist with and prepare for all program audits.

  • Manage client loan payments and activate batches for loans that are on ACH.

  • Generate and mail invoices for all loans that require paper statements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

·       Three (3) or more years of accounting related experience

·       Experience with non-profits and tracking restricted funding highly preferred

·       QuickBooks experience required

·       Strong computer skillset including Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel

·       Proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) particularly as they pertain to nonprofit organizations

·       Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

·       Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines

Pay: Hourly Starting at $25hr, higher possible depending on experience
