Come to North Conway as our new department manager! Our North Conway New Hampshire location is one of the most beautiful stores in the Co-op, nestled in the Mount Washington Valley with a view of Rattlesnake Mountain from the front window. North Conway was the first REI location in New Hampshire, beating our five year performa by year three. We welcome people from all over the Northeast, greeting thousands of Canadian customers per year as well as folks from all over the world!  We’re close to many of New England’s choice ski resorts: Cranmore, Attitash, Wildcat, Pleasant Mountain, King Pine, and Bretton Woods. You can enjoy hiking year-round, and during our the summer and fall enjoy premier mountain biking, climbing, and a variety of rivers and lakes for water sports. Our store has the resources and staff to get you outside and experience nature in all these amazing ways! We create wonderful experiences for our employees and our customers - whether it’s through the classes we offer, the partnerships we build, or the ways we get out and have fun together. We are looking for an individual who is engaging, a strong communicator, has experience building incredible teams, and can champion change and innovation.

 

How you'll be successful: 

  • Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates responsibilities to team. 
  • Handle training, coaching, recognition, and performance management 
  • Direct the execution of our core standards and overall visual direction. 
  • Drive sales through all channels by maximizing selling behaviors. 
  • Make business adaptations to increase sales and service. 
  • Communicate key company strategies and changes to teams as needed. 
  • Recruits and develops diverse talent from within and outside the organization. 
  • Inspire a customer-centric culture by recognizing and rewarding team. 
  • Develop top performers and evaluate performance, give coaching and appropriate level of feedback. 
  • Builds teams through effective employee development, involvement, and communication.
